With this week’s New Moon in Libra aligning with the Sun, we are fully immersed in Libra season—a time of balance, beauty and harmony.

Libra, the daytime ruler of Venus, calls us to look inward and outward, inviting us to find equilibrium in every aspect of life as we find our way in the world.
If you’ve had the chance to gaze at the evening sky lately, you’ve likely seen Venus shining bright, her beauty majestic and unmistakable; the brightest planet in our solar neighbourhood.
The ancients revered Venus as the morning and evening star, honouring her as a symbol of glory and radiance.
In Ancient Sumeria, she was known as Inanna, in Babylonia as Ishtar, to the Greeks as Aphrodite and to the Romans as Venus. In Nigeria, she was revered as Oshun.
With the rise of Christianity, her name remained Venus —but her story and energy became constrained by the expectations of an increasingly patriarchal society. Once seen as the embodiment of love, beauty and harmony, Venus was reinvented as the 'good girl,' the 'good wife', the object of someone's desires and ideals of perfect beauty.
Reader, leave those outdated ideas in the past.
Now is the perfect time to recalibrate and rediscover Venus as a Muse—a force of connection, desire and boundless creation.
Under her influence, I invite you to reflect on how you cultivate beauty in your life, how you nurture relationships (starting with yourself), and how you express your desires.
A Radical Reclamation of Venus as Muse
Venus calls you to claim your power in subtle yet transformative ways.
She reminds you that:
- Balance is an act of self-respect.
- Pleasure is your birthright.
- Self-worth is sacred.
As we inch towards the mid-point of Libra season, reflect on these questions:

This is your time to reflect, recalibrate and rise—just as Venus does each evening, lighting up the sky with her eternal radiance.
